Jim's "doghouse" bass is a 1953,
M-series Kay. He bought it about
three years ago from a musician
friend in Greenville, SC, who played
mostly old-time music. She had
bought it years earlier from a jazz
musician in Atlanta.

It has been re-fretted with thicker wire and Tom Nechville (Nechville Banjos), did some tweaking on it last May and fitted it with the Enterprise bridge and the nice "comfortable" armrest. Left.
